Walk through Waikiki

I've decided to try to mix things up a bit to get some enjoyable exercise.  After leaving a Board of Trustees meeting at the Hawaii Army Museum, I packed to be able to take off and walk through the heart of Waikiki to the other end on the back side of Diamond Head.  I've never walked from one end to the other, but have driving the road between the two when showing family and friends around the island.  I found some neat areas and revisited my favorite little duck pond near Kapiolani Park.  Here are a few photos from the adventure.

Yes, I got some wet feet on this one!!

Hundreds of Needlefish

Check out those beady eyes!! Love his colors and detail!

Hammock's are the 2017 craze...people tie up everywhere!

Picture is hard to tell but there were several baby sharks, some Humuhumunukunukuapua aka triggerfish, and many more needlefish.

I call this the pretzel tree.

No discrimination here...the beautiful pond area is home to several different bird varieties. I feel like Mary Poppins walking through with all of the birds coming and going.

This mama was busy...she had at least 20 ducklings swimming around.

An interesting white headed duck??? Have never seen one like this?? Almost like a duck and pigeon mated??
