Maserati - 3 day Luxury Rental

Back in June we attended a Chamber of Commerce event and won a 3 day luxury car rental of a Maserati.  What do you do with a car like this on an island that creeps at a snails pace...you drive it around the island and just enjoy the ride.  Personal opinion: We prefer our 13yr old Lexus much better!!  We would never buy this car because 1) it doesn't fit a can with a coozie on it for my morning soda 2) it does not fit Ryan's coffee mug and 3) it's quite stressful to drive around a $90k vehicle (especially if it's not yours) knowing full well it will be treated by others as any other island car.  Since we had to use it before 12/31, we decided what better time than Christmas!

Day 1: Pick up the car, go to a client, then drive out the Leeward coast to surprise some friends and catch the sunset.

My sister says it looks like a Buick...and sounds like a Buick with a Bad muffler!!

This is the greenest we have ever seen the Leeward Coast

We drove on roads and in areas that we've never seen before.

These Christmas decorations are up on the Likelike all year round...love them on my favorite trees!

A view down the coast from Electric Beach - one of my favorite sunset spots

Day 2 - Christmas Eve: Today we decided to take a drive through downtown Honolulu to scope out the Christmas decorations, a through Waikiki to let some tourists do some rubber necking, cruise through the high end neighborhoods since we looked like we fit in, then go around the south side of the island to and back to Electric Beach for the sunset and moon rise of the Full Moon.

While circling the island, we had to swing by the beach we got married at - Waialae Beach Park

A couple was getting their wedding photos taken

We drove around in some of the private, high end neighborhoods. We figured we could since we were driving a Maserati. If asked, we could say we are looking to buy a home!

Ran across Dog's house

I love some of the pigeon slang on official signs

A house is being dug out of the mountainside and built. We'll have to go back and see the finished product at a later time.

So nice of them to build holes through their roof for the cacti

You wonder how you can get lost on an island? It's because there are so many roads with the same name around the island. Don't get me started on Kamehameha Hwy!!  lol

We were maxxing this baby out!!  20mph wooo-hoo!!!

Oh wait, made it to 33mph!!

Here is a memorial in honor of two young military men who died while playing on the rocks near Blowhole.

I love that people decorate these trees on the windward side for the holidays.

Enjoying the holiday spirit

A great day for wind surfing
